UNEP's RESPONSES -
Environmental impact of trade measures

UNEP’s programme on environment and trade aims at contributing to efforts leading to the development and implementation of policy packages which promote the integration of environmental considerations in trade policies and agreements.

Among all the activities and products, the Environment and Trade Programme recently carried out a study on environmental impacts of trade measures. The following reports are now available:

  • Trade Liberalisation and the Environment: A synthesis report;
  • Environmental Impacts of Trade Liberalisation and Policies for the Sustainable Management of Natural Resources – country case studies from Bangladesh, Chile, India, Romania, Uganda.

You can download these reports and find out more information about UNEP Environment and Trade activities at: http://www.unep.ch/etu/etp/index.htm.
